Wordwork: The Craft of Creative Writing

Spring 2020

Just as carpenters craft wood, you will use writing tools and techniques to craft words. This open-genre course is for beginner to intermediate writers who want to tinker with words in a lively and supportive environment. Through lectures, discussions, exercises and assignments, you tighten your nuts ā€™nā€™ bolts writing skills (dialogue, point-of-view and revision) as well as hone your literary skills (style, characterization and theme). You leave the workshop with a portfolio of short pieces that have run through the process of peer feedback.
