Web Design and Development (Ages 11 – 14)

Summer 2018

Today’s websites are dynamic, data-driven software applications that pull content from multiple internet services to deliver end users with up-to-date information. The technologies you choose to power your site are known as your “tech stack”. Understanding what technologies are available and how to integrate them is akin to planning a home renovation project. What approach makes sense, DIY, or off the shelf? In this camp, you analyze the tech stack used by several popular sites, understand how to access these technologies and then dive into JavaScript, RESTful APIs and cloud services to access data streams, machine learning and computer vision!

NOTE: Previous experience with programming is an asset but not required. There will be plenty of typing in this camp so brush up on your keyboarding skills.
