Video Game Design: Journey to Trappist-1 (Ages 8 – 11)

Summer 2019

In early 2017, astronomers announced the discovery of the Trappist-1 system and its seven “earth-like” planets, only 40 light years away. In this action-packed game design camp, you learn about the physics of space travel, engineer extraterrestrial ecosystems and design alien worlds. Through the creation of board, outdoor and, of course, video games, you explore the key principles of game design from a curriculum designed by artists and engineers. You also learn how to use Unity3D, the software of choice for game developers around the world. Trappist-1 may be light years away, but after this camp you will have created a piece of it on Earth.
