Video Game Design: Agriculture (Ages 8-10)

Summer 2018

Farming has come a long way since Old MacDonald. No longer is it just about cows and pigs with moo moos here and oink oinks there. Robotics, genomics, artificial intelligence, sensors, and more, are increasingly playing a role in agriculture. And now, thanks to this camp, you can too! Create a farm-themed video game using Unity3D, the world-leading platform for game makers. In addition to finding out about the fascinating science behind modern day farming, you learn the core skills of the design process and computational thinking. And, since real farmers spend a lot of time outside, you won’t be on screens all day. There will be lots of opportunity to head outside to design physical games that incorporate the beautiful Cap U campus. You’ll get to grow your own crops, too!
