Rapid Prototyping with 3D Printing

Summer 2018

Do you have an idea you’d like to test and develop? Are you curious about 3D printing? This workshop, suitable for bright business minds, inventors, artists and designers working in 3D media or anyone keen on hands-on engagement with new technologies, combines the entrepreneurial aspects of idea development with 3D printing technology in a lab format. In addition to design principles, basic electronics and 3D printing, the workshop covers current practices in intellectual property development, crowdsourcing and the development and presentation of business ideas. Analytic design principles for testing and improving prototypes will also be explored. Taught by Capilano University faculty, the workshop wraps up with a dragon’s den style presentation by participants to a panel, who will provide constructive feedback.

Note: Printing costs included, but extra optional supply costs may apply depending on project.
