In this workshop, you learn how local search engine optimization (Local SEO) is one of the most powerful ways for your small business to attract customers who are in your own backyard.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn what Local SEO is and why it’s important to your small business
  • Start to optimize your Google My Business listing and help your customers find you more easily – online and in-person
  • Discover how to list your business on key platforms using Apple Maps Connect, and Bing Places for Business
  • Understand what local citation building is and how your business can benefit from it

Led by CapU instructor Tristan Jutras, this workshop is perfect for small-business owners, entrepreneurs, marketers, and website owners seeking a basic understanding of local SEO to help make their business more visible online.

Please bring your laptop and be ready for hands-on practice.

About the Instructor:

Tristan Jutras
Tristan is on a mission to help people make smart technology decisions. His experience ranges from TV and radio broadcasting to web design & development, and marketing & communications, with 20 years of online experience, working with both local start-ups and global brands. He’s currently the Director of Marketing at Limestone Learning, Digital Media Instructor at Capilano University and UBC, an active speaker and guest lecturer, and a regular guest on Global TV BC News.
