Capilano University Festival Chorus

Spring 2017

This spring, the Capilano University Festival Chorus, along with the Capilano University Singers, the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, and conductors Janna Sailor and Lars Kaario, perform Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, along with popular opera choruses, including Brindisi’s La Traviata, the Anvil Chorus from Verdi’s Il Trovatore, and March of the Toreadors from Bizet’s Carmen. Bravo!

To register in the chorus:
If you are interested in joining the Festival Chorus, please call Capilano University at 604.986.1911, ext. 2309 before registering, to schedule an audition.

REHEARSALS:
12 Wed, Jan 11 – Apr 5, 7 – 10 pm

DRESS REHEARSAL:
Fri, Apr 7, 6:30 – 10:30 pm

PERFORMANCES:
Great Mass in C Minor & Opera Choruses: Sat, Apr 8 @ 8 pm, & Sun, Apr 9 @ 3 pm, at the BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts at Capilano University.

About Capilano University Festival Chorus:
The chorus sings the vast range of choral music from the medieval period to newly commissioned works. Past concerts include Handel’s Messiah, Charpentier’s Te Deum, Fauré’s Requiem, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, the 4th movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Bach’s Magnificat, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart, Brahms, and Fauré’s Requiem, and Schubert’s Mass in C.
