Adobe InDesign Fundamentals

Fall 2017

Learn about the many ways professionals use Adobe InDesign to combine text, illustrations and images, and create documents optimized for both web and print. Topics covered include essential tools and palettes; InDesign workspace customization; preparing images for print and web documents; leveraging master pages to speed up your work; organizing page elements using layers; creating and manipulating vector art; working with type using style sheets; the use of a column-grid to more consistently lay out your page elements; troubleshooting existing InDesign documents; optimizing file size and graphic quality for print and web; and packaging or exporting your complete documents. Real-world examples will be presented, as well as hands-on exercises with real-time feedback from your instructor. Taught in a PC lab, but is compatible for Mac users.

PREREQUISITES: Basic familiarity with the Windows operating system and simple keyboard shortcuts.
