Lars Kaario founder and artistic director of the professional chamber choir Laudate Singers, the international and national prize-winning Capilano University Singers and Capilano University Festival Chorus. He enjoys working with a variety of ensembles, and has commissioned many works by Canadian composers including Mark Armanini, Imant Raminsh, Ramona Luengen, Kris Fulton, Tyler Peterson, Heather Harty, Moshe Denburg, Denis Bédard, Bruce Sled, Andrei Diaconu and Taymaz Saba. He champions Canadian music and regularly programs these works in all of his choirs.

Mr. Kaario is the Director of Choral and Conducting Studies at Capilano University, where he teaches ear-training and voice. For the past 20 years, he has been choral director at the West Coast Summer Music Festival, where he instills the love of the arts, especially choral music, to a wide range of people of various ages. He is active as an adjudicator, clinician, and educator, and has been honoured by his community of North Vancouver with the Judy Dennis Award for his contributions to the arts.
